Thousands of households in our area received more than $3.3 million in tax refunds and saved thousands in preparation fees through United Way of the Capital Areas’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program this past year.

VITA is a volunteer-focused tax service dedicated to making a meaningful impact on individuals and families with limited incomes through free tax preparation. Serving three counties (Hinds, Madison, and Rankin) across Mississippi, the United Way-run program fosters economic stability while empowering people in the community.
